Dion
Dion was a nine-year-old participant in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Maryland during Logan Weston’s senior year of high school. He was described as bright, restless, and stubborn, and he reminded Logan strongly of himself at the same age. Dion and Logan were matched through the program when Logan was seventeen.

Logan and Dion met weekly for games, museum visits, and conversations about science fiction and grief. Logan accepted Dion’s intensity, curiosity, and stubbornness rather than treating those qualities as problems to correct. Dion came to trust him and became comfortable showing the sensitivity beneath his bravado.
The match continued the mentorship pattern that had begun when Curtis Miles became Logan’s Big Brother. Logan’s work with Dion gave him an opportunity to provide another child with the consistency and acceptance Curtis had provided for him.
